Mozilla and Google Leaving JPEG Photo Format

Apple's got an idea for next generation photo technology a new AV1 video density technology that could go a step ahead in future.
But Google, Mozilla and others in a group called the Alliance for Open Media are working on a challenging photo technology in which images are 15% smaller than photo format of Apple's HEIC, said by “Tim Terriberry”, a Mozilla principal research engineer working on the project. Consider smaller sizes as the beginning of a revolution.
No matter what it takes, photos are going to get better. It's not clear what path we will it take or how long it will take, but it is clear that photos are turning into something more than mere prints you usually bond in a photo album.
The downside of JPEG is that it is not just limited to large file sizes. It is also pathetic when it comes to sustaining bright and dark tones, a broader range of colors, and graphic elements like text and logos.
